Colombia is rich in Spanish heritage, with its traditions and architecture all reflecting its colonial past. Bogota, the ultra modern capital city, has often been called the Athens of America because of its cultural influences since the time of the Spanish Conquistadors. Tropical in many parts, Colombia also enjoys the magnificent Andean Mountains which run the entire length of the country, as well as kilometres of beautiful beaches on its Caribbean and Pacific coastal resort areas.   
  

 

BOGOTA 

3 days / 2 nights  

Day 1: Bogota

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.  

Day 2: Bogota

Half day city tour includes the colonial home of Simon Bolivar and the Gold Museum which houses the world's greatest and most famous collection of gold artifacts and some 17,000 pre-Colombian pieces. Afternoon at leisure to visit Monserrate for breathtaking views over the city and valley. (B)  

Day 3: Bogota

Transfer for onward travel. (B)  

 

SAN AGUSTIN 

4 days / 3 nights  

Day 1: Bogota-San Agustin

Take a long day's drive down the Magdalena Valley, passing numerous quaint towns and villages, to the charming hillside town of San Agustin. (D)  

Day 2: San Agustin

Tour the archaeological park, where you can appreciate the Mesitas with their monoliths, burial grounds, the Forest of Statues and a charming small museum. (B,D)  

Day 3: San Agustin

Drive past the San Jose de Isnos to Alto de los Idolos. Here the statues guard the burial graves. (B,D)  

Day 4: San Agustin-Bogota

Spend the day returning to Bogota. (B) 
  

 

CARTAGENA

Day 1: Cartagena

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.  

Day 2: Cartagena

A tour of this magnificent Caribbean seaside port, which was the first great Spanish stronghold in South America, will allow you to visit the old section of the city, the Monastery of La Popa and the Fortress of San Felipe de Barajas, an immense fortress built to defend the city against attacks. Afternoon at leisure. (B)  

Day 3: Cartagena

Transfer for onward travel. (B)
