Argentina: the land of the Gaucho, the Tango
and the Andes. The second largest country in the continent, Argentina
is a fascinating triangular shaped country offering a wide variety
of attractions, from the world's largest casino in Mar del Plata
to Peninsula Valdez with its incredible penguin rookeries.
Beyond its sophisticated capital city of Buenos
Aires, Argentina will astonish the visitor with fine wines, the
giant Iguazu Falls plunging 60 metres on the border with Brazil,
the Aconcagua (the highest peak in the Americas at 6960 metres),
the pampas (the world's richest grasslands), and Bariloche (one
of the most popular international ski resorts).
In the far south you have Lago Argentina, one of
the most photogenic mountain, glacier and lake areas in the world,
where the awe inspiring Perito Moreno Glacier is the only one
in the world still growing. At the bottom is Tierra del Fuego
and the most southern city in the world, Ushuaia, overlooking
the Beagle Channel and stepping-off point to the frozen continent
of Antarctica. Argentina is simply amazing!
