transferred to your hotel. Day 2: Caracas
Afternoon city tour visiting
the birth place of Bolivar, Pantheon, Plaza
Bolivar, the Cathedral and colonial parts of the
city. Day

Transfer for onward

ANGEL FALLS
2 days / 1 night
Day 1:
Fly into Canaima, deep into
the Venezuelan wilderness. You will suddenly
discover the jungle and get a glimpse of the
Angel Falls, the highest waterfalls in the world
at 979 metres high. On arrival you will be
transferred to Canaima Lodge. Afternoon boat ride
to the lagoon. Enjoy the jungle, pink sandy
beaches and lush flora. Day 2:
Morning excursion to Yuri
Falls by dugout canoe. Afternoon transfer to the
airport for
your flight to Caracas.
MERIDA
3 days / 2 nights
Day 1: Merida
On arrival you will be met and
transferred to your hotel. Day 2: Merida
Morning visit to the world's
highest cable car ride and its four stage ascent
of Pico Espejo (4765 metres). Total round trip
approximately 3 hours, enjoying views of Picos
Humboldt, Bonpland and Llanos. Return to Merida
this afternoon for optional tours.
Day 3: Merida
Transfer for onward
travel.
MARACAIBO
3 days / 2 nights
Day 1: Maracaibo
On arrival you will be met and
transferred to your hotel. Afternoon visit to the
city, with its strikingly different modern and
colonial sections. Day 2: Maracaibo
Full day tour to see the
Sinamaica Indians still living in houses made of
woven reed mats built on stilts. Enroute we will
visit the Guajira Indians and view the women in
their tent shaped dresses, painted faces and big
wool pom-poms. Return to Maracaibo after
lunch. Day
3: Maracaibo
Transfer for onward
travel.
SOUTH OF THE ORINOCO EXPEDITION TO ANGEL FALLS
5 Days / 4 Nights ( May To November )
Day
1: Canaima
Morning flight over the Angel
Falls to Canaima. On arrival you will be
transferred to Canaima Lodge. (D)
Day 2: Canaima - Ratoncito
Island
After breakfast depart by boat
up the Carrao and Churun-Meru Rivers to Ratoncito
Island, observing numerous water falls and lilies
of the Auyan Tepuys or "Devil's
Mountain". Overnight camp. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Ratoncito Island
After breakfast walk
approximately two hours to the foot of the Angel
Falls, the highest waterfalls in the world. Swim
in the water of the falls and explore the area
prior to returning to camp. (B,L,D)
Day 4: Ratoncito Island
You may remain in the camp
today, or if the Churun-Meru River permits
good navigation,
return to the Carrao River with a detour to the
Arenal, famous for its
abandoned diamond mines,
prior to reaching Orquidea Island and setting up
camp.

Day 5: Canaima - Caracas
After returning by boat to the
Canaima Lodge and enjoying lunch, you will be
transferred to the airport this afternoon for
onward travel. (B) |
